Transfer of DRG competences from the Office for Health Protection to the Ministry of Health

For 2017, all PHCUs, representing 62 hospitals, were required to report the annual benefit.

2016

2015 - 2017

The collection of medical and economic data was carried out for the first time in 2015, when 13 inpatient healthcare providers were involved in the pilot project.

October 2011 - March 2015

Training of DRG system users according to individual training programmes. The Office (CKS) implemented the project "Training of DRG system users", which was co-financed by the European Social Fund. The training was provided by IneK-trained staff of the Office (national experts).

December 2012

Signed an amendment to the contract with InEK.

January 2012

The preparation of the first version SK-DRG 1.0, which was built on the G-DRG 2011 version, has started. It was adapted to ICD-10 according to ICD-10-GM-2011.


Establishment of a list of medical procedures of inpatient (inpatient) health care (later adopted as the List of Medical Procedures of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Groups).


A number of essential documents have been translated, such as the Disease and Health Procedure Coding Rules.

June 2011

The Steering Committee decided on the selection of a suitable foreign system, considering the German DRG system (G-DRG) to be the most suitable system for Slovak conditions .

April 2011

Competences for DRG issues have been designated for the Health Care Supervisory Authority. The Authority created its new organisational component, the Centre for Classification System.

December 2010

The Ministry of Health started the implementation of the classification system and the Health Care Supervisory Authority became the centre for the classification system of diagnostic and therapeutic groups.
