Discrepancies in the 2019 database
Given the importance of recalculating the relative weights in the DRG system, it is necessary to check the input data, the so-called DRG benefits, which the CCS receives from all participating inpatient health care providers (IHCPs) as of 15 April of a given year.
In developing the control steps over the DRG database, it was found that the FNsP in B. Bystrica had incomparably increased costs compared to the revenues from the NHIF and compared to other PHCS for the year 2019.
The CKS team found that FNsP B. Bystrica realised the discrepancy shortly after uploading the new DRG dose and sent a corrected DRG dose, which was not uploaded to the current DRG database.
The CKS team contacted all PHCS to check the accuracy of the data regarding the upload of DRG benefits in the downloaded database from the Health Care Supervisory Authority.
Four additional PHCS were identified that did not have the DRG benefit uploaded at all (Ľubovnianska Hospital and Hospitale Šahy) and those that did not have the corrected DRG benefit uploaded (DFnSP B. Bystrica). University Hospital Bratislava sent the corrected DRG benefit because they realised on that occasion the incorrectness of the calculation of implants at direct cost.
