Meeting with experts from the NHS and NFZ

The CKS DRG team participated in 2 meetings with experts from the English Natianal Health Service (NHS) and the Polish Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia ( NFZ) regarding the update of the Polish DRG system under the auspices of the European Commission.

The Health Economics Department at the NHS shared insights and ideas on the development and maintenance of DRGs. The first meeting mainly focused on reviewing proposals for updating the Polish DRG system. The second meeting focused mainly on the DRG coding process in English hospitals, processing data from hospitals, setting relative weights and inpatient sector funding.

A few highlights

It is important to note that the English DRG is different from the Slovak DRG or the German DRG on which the Slovak DRG is based. Again, the Polish DRG is based on the English DRG.
